#026: If you used Sun-In on your long fringe bits, You're Probably in Perimenopause
By Valerie |
Over the past month we’ve been running our summer campaign “You’re Probably in Perimenopause.” In it, we’ve drawn parallels with elements of our youth – the music, the questionable fashion choices, the so-called impeccable beauty standards (looking at you, blue mascara and Sun-In).
The response has been overwhelming. Yes, because it’s relatable (who doesn’t love a nostalgic flashback?), but also because of the deeper message: solidarity. As one commenter put it, “you’re not just encouraging connection with the brand, you’re helping us connect with each other.”
And that’s exactly what we set out to do. This has never been about us. It never will be. We’re building this brand to be a microphone - amplifying women’s voices - and giving a giant hug for every woman navigating this season of life.
We hear it time and again: the loneliness, the quiet “I thought it was just me.” And every time, it reminds us why we need to keep going. Why we need to keep talking about it. Why we need to exist.
Yes, we’ve had a lot of fun rummaging through the memory bank (thankfully, social media wasn’t around to document our teenage experiments). But here’s the thing: perimenopause feels a lot like that time in our lives. The changes, the emotions, the uncertainty. The sense of standing at the edge of something new and unfamiliar. And just like back then, we need each other.
So if you’re reading this and quietly thinking “this feels like me,” know this: you’re not alone. Not now. Not ever.
We’re here for the laughs, the tears, and the big conversations. Because this is your space too. Come and join our Wild Woman WhatsApp group, we’ve got your back.
Love Valerie x
Many women think HRT is a complicated subject, but it doesn't have to be.
We believe passionately that women must be well-informed in order to make the best choices for themselves. In this article, we address some of the most common myths about HRT, as well as how it acts in the body and the possible benefits and drawbacks of using it.
Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus is the perfect summer read. Set in the 1960s but fiercely modern at heart, it follows Elizabeth, a brilliant chemist who refuses to shrink herself to fit the era’s expectations. When life knocks her sideways, she reinvents herself. It’s smart, funny, and a love letter to bold women who’ve had enough of playing by the rules. Here’s to “Your No F*cks Era.”
